Long-time Steppingstone Staff Member Retires

ECH is offering a fond farewell to Glenda Roberts. After 14 years of dedicated service, Glenda is retiring and moving to her home state of Alabama.

For the past 14 years, Ms. Robert’s has worked with the older youth in the Steppingstone program. She started as a house parent in the Baur Group Home. When the program evolved and Baur was made into the Steppingstone Center, Ms. Robert’s transitioned to Apartment Life/Youth Care Specialist. In this position she was responsible for providing supervision and assistance to the youth living in on-campus apartments as well as in the group homes. Ms. Roberts would prepare residents for moving in and out of the apartments, looking for cleanliness, maintenance needs, appropriately furnished etc. She would also conduct a routine walk through of the apartments and report any violation and/or maintenance needs. Glenda provided on-going assistance to the residents by ensuring all basic needs were being met and would provide transportation for the residents when needed. Basically, Ms. Roberts looked out for the kids day to day well being.

Always with a friendly hello, a story to tell and a southern saying to impart, Ms. Robert’s will be greatly missed.
