ECH is participating in Bags of Change through Lucky’s Market. Simply bring your own reusable grocery bags to Lucky’s Market in Ellisville or Rock Hill and they will give you a wooden dime. Then place the dime in our donation bin and Lucky’s will match the total donations. Bags of Change runs through May 20th.
The money raised from Lucky’s Market will support the St. Louis Steppingstone “Start-Up Kits.” The Steppingstone Transitional Living Program serves youth 16-21 who are homeless, at-risk for homelessness, or who are aging out of foster care, by providing living arrangements, life skills training, case management, education assistance, and help in finding employment. The goal is for youth to successfully transition into adulthood. It costs $380 to provide each youth with a “Start-up Kit” when they move into their first apartment. The kit includes bedding, laundry and kitchen supplies, toiletries, and cleaning supplies. The program serves 68 youth annually.
