Outpatient Psychiatric Services provides a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan, along with medication management, for children by board-certified child psychiatrists. Thanks to a grant by the St. Louis Children Service Fund, children ages 4-19 who live in St. Louis County receive services for free.

He has extensive experience working with patients in an outpatient setting as well as those needing hospitalization. Dr. Shanker is conservative in his approach to medication and feels the most important part of being a successful psychiatrist is listening. Dr. Shanker graduated medical school from University of Missouri, Columbia. He did his residency at Washington University and a Fellowship at Northwestern University. He is board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry and adult psychiatry. Dr. Shanker’s area of interest are ADHD, depression and anxiety and bipolar disorder.
